New!

  •  USB Powered  for Futaba AM and FM
  •  BuddyBox Editions  for Airtronics

Run the interface using power from the USB interface or transmitter's AC adapter/charger. No batteries needed! You can fly until your thumbs fall off! Save you TX Batteries for field flying. See specific models below.

The USB Interface Cable
Windows 98/ME/2K/XP

The interface cable connects your transmitter "training" connector to the PC USB port (Universal Serial Bus). The training connector is also known as the "buddy box" connector, usually used to connect an instructor transmitter to a student transmitter (where a switch is used to transfer control from the instructor's tx to the student's tx).

Functionally the USB is the same as the PIC-Serial. It contains a built-in USB to serial adapter to provide USB connectivity, this is handy for newer laptops that do not have serial ports.

Note: This USB interface cable will support Windows 2000 and XP.

USB Connector

The BuddyBox Edition has a power connector at circuit box to provide power to TX, no batteries needed!

The U3PBE has a selection switch and the AC Power Adapter or Charger connector

And any transmitter that's buddy cord compatible to above list

* New USB Powered version: U1P & U3P. The USB port will provide power to the transmitter. No batteries needed. This is similar to the student's tx getting power from the instructor's tx. The power switch should remain in the off position, batteries should be removed. Note: the USB port is only capable of providing 5V to the transmitter, more than enough power to run the simulator. However, the newer "computer radios" will continuously emit an audible beep for "low battery" warning. Please see U3PBE below.

** New BuddyBox Edition for Airtronics: U2BE. An AC Adapter (or the TX's charger) will provide power to the tx via a power connect at the circuit box. The power switch should remain in the off position, batteries should be removed. Limited time offer: free AC adapter with U2BE purchase.

*** New USB Powered version: U3PBE and U5PBE. The interface will give you a choice of power; either from the USB port or an external AC adapter charger (a switch allows using one or the other). Your power options for the U3PBE:

U3PBE
Power from Transmitter Battery
  • Selection Switch on white dot
  • NO ac adapter/charger
  • Transmitter power switch should be at the ON position.
Power from USB
  • Selection Switch NOT on white dot
  • NO ac adapter/charger
  • Transmitter Power switch should be at the OFF position
  • Transmitter battery should be removed.
Power from AC Adapter or Charger
  • Selection Switch on white dot
  • Connect ac adapter/charger
  • Transmitter Power switch should be at the OFF position
  • Transmitter battery should be removed.

All cables are made from coax cable (RG174/U) for clean signal transmissions (laptop OK); the exceptions are types U1P, U3P, U2BE, U3PBE, which are made from shielded cable. Free CD of FMS software and additional aircrafts included.
